Amateur Catholic

We don't write books or do speaking tours.
In fact, we barely do our jobs.
-We're the B-Team of Catholic Bloggers-

This is the home of the Amateur Catholic® bloggers - or as we like to refer to ourselves, the B-team. We don't write books or do speaking tours. In fact, we barely do our jobs. That's not to say we're unambitious though... You see, this coalition is just the second phase our blogoshpere conquest. We suppose you could think of us as amateur crusaders too.

Membership will not bring you any money, perks, notoriety, or prestige - but you will get the privilege of proudly displaying the B-team badge on your blog! Lucky you, huh?

amateurcatholic @ gmail.com

If you are hosting a conference, parish function, or some other event and can not afford the exorbitant fees typically associated with a Professional Catholic®, please contact one of our members. We like to hear ourselves talk just as much as the Professional Catholics® do, we just don't charge you for it. But hey give us a meal, free beer, and a designated driver, and we'll speak about breaking the Da Vinci Code or anything else you might care to hear about.

The B-Team badge is copryright 2006, The B-Team Bloggers®. Of course, we're Amateur Catholics®, so if you use the badge without permission (enrolled membership), we won't hunt you down and make you cough up your hard-earned bucks. Just have fun with it and maybe buy us a beer next time you're in town.

Blegging for a good cause

Rick,

This is not the usual blegging email. I'm writing you
so that maybe you might include this in the "main"
Amateur Catholic blog.

This is a fundraiser for the Carmelite Sisters of the
Sacred Heart of Los Angeles
(http://carmelitegeneralate.homestead.com/). As anyone can see
by their website, the Carmelite Sisters are a good,
solid, holy, orthodox bunch and they need our help. To
help fund their Religious Education efforts they are
selling handcrafted Christmas cards, $2/each and
$17.50/10 cards.

The whole thing (with pictures) is at
http://jmgarciaiii.blogspot.com/2006/12/like-blegging-but-not-really.html
and I'm not making a penny off of this!

If everyone who reads this could buy just one pack of
cards, it'd fund the next semester of Religious
Education for kids who otherwise couldn't afford the
books and fees and so forth.

Thanks in advance!

-Joe
I'm more than happy to post this, Joe, especially my being an Amateur Carmelite. ;) I urge the readers to follow the link to the post on your site as well.

Eve: Amateur Catholic

Eve here, from A Catholic In Steinbach, and I would love to be considered part of the B team. I am a practicing Catholic with much emphasis on the "practicing" part, living amidst Protestantism. My education is limited along with my experience. My blog began as an outlet to express myself in a manner that could not be suffocated by other faiths. I am not strong in Catholic apologetics or history, however I do wish to defend my faith at any opportunity, and I learn more everyday from "professional Catholics". In conclusion, as my blog simply states, "I'm a Catholic wife and mother continuing to live my faith in the midst of Protestantism."

Sincerely,
A *practicing* Catholic In Steinbach
Well you're in the midst of other *practicing* Catholics now, Eve. Welcome to the B-Team! And make sure you pick up a badge. ;)

Old B-Teamer - New blog

Hello Fellow Amateurs!

I am indeed enjoying my current amateurish status and having a lovely shiny badge on The Crescat. I like shiny things. I have created another blog that I would like you to dub “amateur”. Let me introduce to you The League of Warm & Fuzzy Traditionalists. This blog is not even a week old… how amateurish is that. My newest little blog needs a push and I am imploring the amateur powers to be, that you help it get a little noticing.

The League is looking for warm & fuzzy trads, and I just know having a sweet little badge and being on your blog roll will do the trick! Thanks a bunch.

Smooches,

The Fuzzy Overlord.
The Fuzzy Overlord being fellow B-Teamer Carolina Cannonball. I have the blogroll updated, but you need to display the badge yet, kiddo. Let's get with it now...
;)

Sieglinde: Amateur Catholic

I was wandering around in Catholic blogland and realize that now that I have
a blog I qualify to be on the B-team, so...may I join? My blog is Eastward,
Catholic Soldiers! (eastwardcatholicsoldiers.blogspot.com) and there is more
than one meaning to the title which I may or may not ever explain on the
blog, :-D
Anyway, I'd be honored to be included!

Pax et bonum,
Sieglinde

Turbocharge your Faith - pray the Divine Office!
Welcome to the B-Team, Sieglinde! Make sure you grab the code for the badge (the link is in the sidebar).

DimBulb: Amateur Catholic

Dear Amateur Catholic,

Since there are few Catholics more amateurish than I am, I have taken the liberty of swiping the badge before dropping this note off to you. Now I know that this is probably and offense against one of the commandments- 7th? 8th? I know its around there somewnere- but what's an amateur to do?

After screwing around with blogging for some time I've decided to get serious and have started blogging on the Bible, which I know a thing or two about; and on St Thomas Aquinas, whom (or is it who?) I hope to learn a thing or two about.

Here is my primary blog site which has a Menu Page with links, some of which will take you to secondary blog of mine,
and some of which will take you to a friends site.
Don't worry about the badge thing, it's not like we're the USCCB or something...

Welcome aboard!

Corky Bellafuente: Amateur Catholic

Hello fellow Catholic latent-achiever,
