Amateur Catholic

We don't write books or do speaking tours.
In fact, we barely do our jobs.
-We're the B-Team of Catholic Bloggers-

This is the home of the Amateur Catholic® bloggers - or as we like to refer to ourselves, the B-team. We don't write books or do speaking tours. In fact, we barely do our jobs. That's not to say we're unambitious though... You see, this coalition is just the second phase our blogoshpere conquest. We suppose you could think of us as amateur crusaders too.

Membership will not bring you any money, perks, notoriety, or prestige - but you will get the privilege of proudly displaying the B-team badge on your blog! Lucky you, huh?

If you are hosting a conference, parish function, or some other event and can not afford the exorbitant fees typically associated with a Professional Catholic®, please contact one of our members. We like to hear ourselves talk just as much as the Professional Catholics® do, we just don't charge you for it. But hey give us a meal, free beer, and a designated driver, and we'll speak about breaking the Da Vinci Code or anything else you might care to hear about.

The B-Team badge is copryright 2006, The B-Team Bloggers®. Of course, we're Amateur Catholics®, so if you use the badge without permission (enrolled membership), we won't hunt you down and make you cough up your hard-earned bucks. Just have fun with it and maybe buy us a beer next time you're in town.

I'm speechless.

Hello, my name is Penni and I am a little-known Catholic blogger. In fact, as part of my application to become part of the B Team, I related the fact that I was not up for any Catholic blog awards and tried very hard not to be bitter; in hindsight, I saw the entire event as a lesson in humility. I now see this, being part of the B Team, as a second chance to redeem myself in the Catholic 'sphere without having to go to confession.

That, and it's a great way to meet guys.

(i am kidding, i am kidding)

I was, however, recently mentioned in a post along with Amy Welborn (well, okay, not really but we both met other people, it was a photo op, and it was mentioned in the same thread...oh, and she was not fortunate enough to have breakfast in New Jersey, she was in Italy, whatever...) which puts me into a stratospheric category of notability, so maybe I am just a little too well-known? I have not yet been paid any book advance monies or other remuneration for being on the Blog o' Mossa, but that does not mean it will not happen.

Oh, it could.

I am thrilled to be a part of this elite group of bloggers whose writings I have long since admired. I figured I would start off by turning over a new leaf and use capital letters where necessary (m'kay, Rick??) and perhaps show most folks a different side to the usually neurotic martha, martha. There is another side, trust me.

:)

Well anyone mentioned in a post along with Amy Welborn certainly desereves to be taken notice of...as long as you're not a Pro-Cath®. ;)
