Amateur Catholic

We don't write books or do speaking tours.
In fact, we barely do our jobs.
-We're the B-Team of Catholic Bloggers-

This is the home of the Amateur Catholic® bloggers - or as we like to refer to ourselves, the B-team. We don't write books or do speaking tours. In fact, we barely do our jobs. That's not to say we're unambitious though... You see, this coalition is just the second phase our blogoshpere conquest. We suppose you could think of us as amateur crusaders too.

Membership will not bring you any money, perks, notoriety, or prestige - but you will get the privilege of proudly displaying the B-team badge on your blog! Lucky you, huh?

amateurcatholic @ gmail.com

If you are hosting a conference, parish function, or some other event and can not afford the exorbitant fees typically associated with a Professional Catholic®, please contact one of our members. We like to hear ourselves talk just as much as the Professional Catholics® do, we just don't charge you for it. But hey give us a meal, free beer, and a designated driver, and we'll speak about breaking the Da Vinci Code or anything else you might care to hear about.

The B-Team badge is copryright 2006, The B-Team Bloggers®. Of course, we're Amateur Catholics®, so if you use the badge without permission (enrolled membership), we won't hunt you down and make you cough up your hard-earned bucks. Just have fun with it and maybe buy us a beer next time you're in town.

B-Teamer in need

UPDATE 04/04/06: Please take a moment to read Ron's latest update. Your generosity has been amazing. Beautiful even. I am finding the example set by this small virtual community to be quite touching. A real It's a Wonderful Life moment - but better - everybody knew George Bailey, many of you did not know Ron personally, but heard he could use a hand and you immediately reached out. Thank you, and most importantly, Ron thanks you.

God has a plan. Sometimes the glory in it is very apparent, sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it is brings joy to the heart, sometimes it brings pain. Sometimes it is easier to accept than others, but His plan always calls on us to help one another.

Fellow B-Teamer Ron Rolling, a man I consider a friend, is having rough go of things lately. Some of have been there, some of us will be there, and others will only be able to consider what it is like to be there. Whichever the case may be, we can empathize and sympathize and are intuitively drawn to help. As Catholics we know prayer is our greatest tool, and that's all well and good, but sometimes we have to put our prayers into action, and that's just what a number of people are doing.

Please remember Ron in your prayers, but if you can do anything at all materially, I know he would be very grateful, as would your B-team bretheren. He has a PayPal link on his blog, A Wing and a Prayer. Don't let it go to waste. ;)

Thank you and God bless.

Word from Ron this morning:

(UPDATE: The donor roll has increased to 59, as of a few minutes before the new day begins. The job interview that was scheduled for the past afternoon is postponed until noon tomorrow.)
Thank you B-Teamers and everyone else who has chipped in and/or prayed. It's actually quite touching when you think about it.

There are a lot of Amateur Catholics out there. With so many of us, even small donations can add up to a lot of help for Ron.

If you can find it in your hearts and in your budgets, please remember Ron in you Lenten almsgiving.

Thanks.

At the very least, those of us that blog can spread the word. Let's give those that can make a contribution to him the opportunity to do so!

Donated right away, early last night, as soon as his RSS arrived. It wasn't much at all but it was what I was able to do.
