Amateur Catholic

We don't write books or do speaking tours.
In fact, we barely do our jobs.
-We're the B-Team of Catholic Bloggers-

This is the home of the Amateur Catholic® bloggers - or as we like to refer to ourselves, the B-team. We don't write books or do speaking tours. In fact, we barely do our jobs. That's not to say we're unambitious though... You see, this coalition is just the second phase our blogoshpere conquest. We suppose you could think of us as amateur crusaders too.

Membership will not bring you any money, perks, notoriety, or prestige - but you will get the privilege of proudly displaying the B-team badge on your blog! Lucky you, huh?

amateurcatholic @ gmail.com

If you are hosting a conference, parish function, or some other event and can not afford the exorbitant fees typically associated with a Professional Catholic®, please contact one of our members. We like to hear ourselves talk just as much as the Professional Catholics® do, we just don't charge you for it. But hey give us a meal, free beer, and a designated driver, and we'll speak about breaking the Da Vinci Code or anything else you might care to hear about.

The B-Team badge is copryright 2006, The B-Team Bloggers®. Of course, we're Amateur Catholics®, so if you use the badge without permission (enrolled membership), we won't hunt you down and make you cough up your hard-earned bucks. Just have fun with it and maybe buy us a beer next time you're in town.

Patrick Kinsale: Amateur Catholic revert

How does one join the club? Does the fact that I had four years of theology in college and used to be a published writer count against me? Now I'm writing when I can at donutsunday.blogspot.com.
You're already in the club, it's just that now you get a nifty button to sport on your blog. Besides, I'm guessing you hail from Abp. Burke country. That's worth a truckload of points in itself. I bet you're gonna miss him when he gets transfered to Detroit. ;)

Welcome, Patrick.

Blast, I can't keep up with all these Amateurs. Who knew the RC was so full of unprofessional believers. I certainly didn't but having seen more than my fair share of professionals in, um, another to be unnamed large branch of Christianity over the past, what?, 500 years, I'll just bless God for each and every lame one of us Amateurs.

How does one join this blog experience? Me...as I put on one of my most recent posts on my site...I am unapologetically RC, anti-Liberation Tehology, Pre-Vatican II, Hetero, Conservative, Pro-Israel, self-educated middle-class working stiff!

You all have a good thing here.

Pax Vobiscum

LOL, Jen. You watch...it's gonna happen. God has cursed Detroit for 50 years. We've been praying really hard and suffering terribly. The Good Lord has heard our prayers and has acknowledged them by ensuring Bishop Gumbleton's retirement.

Next step...

Burke to Detroit, then a red hat. :)

Burke is too new to STL to be transfered, methinks. I've met him and he is such a good, humble man.
