Amateur Catholic

We don't write books or do speaking tours.
In fact, we barely do our jobs.
-We're the B-Team of Catholic Bloggers-

This is the home of the Amateur Catholic® bloggers - or as we like to refer to ourselves, the B-team. We don't write books or do speaking tours. In fact, we barely do our jobs. That's not to say we're unambitious though... You see, this coalition is just the second phase our blogoshpere conquest. We suppose you could think of us as amateur crusaders too.

Membership will not bring you any money, perks, notoriety, or prestige - but you will get the privilege of proudly displaying the B-team badge on your blog! Lucky you, huh?

amateurcatholic @ gmail.com

If you are hosting a conference, parish function, or some other event and can not afford the exorbitant fees typically associated with a Professional Catholic®, please contact one of our members. We like to hear ourselves talk just as much as the Professional Catholics® do, we just don't charge you for it. But hey give us a meal, free beer, and a designated driver, and we'll speak about breaking the Da Vinci Code or anything else you might care to hear about.

The B-Team badge is copryright 2006, The B-Team Bloggers®. Of course, we're Amateur Catholics®, so if you use the badge without permission (enrolled membership), we won't hunt you down and make you cough up your hard-earned bucks. Just have fun with it and maybe buy us a beer next time you're in town.

St. Steph: Amateur Catholic

Unlike Anonymous Teacher Person, who somehow manages to get "22% of her students to listen at any given moment," I consider myself lucky if I can get 22% of my students in their seats at any given moment. If they happen to notice that there's someone standing at the front of room talking at them .... hey, that's just bonus!

I'm Steph and, while my subtitle over at Narrow at the Outset may claim that I'm professed, it most certainly does not make me a professional. They won't give me the ring for another four or five years, at least. Right now I'm lucky that they even claim me. Although if they read some of the stuff I put on my blog, they might not even do that.

>But, in order to prove my amateur status, and the fact that so many people pretend not to know me at any given time, may I merely point you in the direction of some of my most moving poetry to date .... or perhaps the fruit of my monastic formation psalmody study .... And while I may occasionally slip into a bit of Benedictine blogging (don't worry, I make it all up as I go along), I tend to prefer a more informercial-styled format.

So, can I play? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? I'm really good at being annoying. And besides, do you really want me to come after you? With the backup that I get from my family? After all, I've got a pretty tight connection with the Big Guy. Heck, we even outrank those Jesuit youngsters. Heck, even the Pope preferred Benedict to Jesui -- or whatever the popey name would be.

I eagerly await my acceptance to your blog. Please know that your associations with me will bring you nothing less than Humiliations Galore lots of progress towards your own personal sainthood.

Wow, we done got ourselves a saint. St. Steph. I hope people don't confuse her with Sr. Steph, who hasn't been canonized just yet....it's in the works though, I hear. ;)
