Amateur Catholic

We don't write books or do speaking tours.
In fact, we barely do our jobs.
-We're the B-Team of Catholic Bloggers-

This is the home of the Amateur Catholic® bloggers - or as we like to refer to ourselves, the B-team. We don't write books or do speaking tours. In fact, we barely do our jobs. That's not to say we're unambitious though... You see, this coalition is just the second phase our blogoshpere conquest. We suppose you could think of us as amateur crusaders too.

Membership will not bring you any money, perks, notoriety, or prestige - but you will get the privilege of proudly displaying the B-team badge on your blog! Lucky you, huh?

amateurcatholic @ gmail.com

If you are hosting a conference, parish function, or some other event and can not afford the exorbitant fees typically associated with a Professional Catholic®, please contact one of our members. We like to hear ourselves talk just as much as the Professional Catholics® do, we just don't charge you for it. But hey give us a meal, free beer, and a designated driver, and we'll speak about breaking the Da Vinci Code or anything else you might care to hear about.

The B-Team badge is copryright 2006, The B-Team Bloggers®. Of course, we're Amateur Catholics®, so if you use the badge without permission (enrolled membership), we won't hunt you down and make you cough up your hard-earned bucks. Just have fun with it and maybe buy us a beer next time you're in town.

B-Team badge code

To install the B-Team badge on your sidebar, you need to insert one of the following examples of code in the sidebar section of your template. You can also use the same code to place in a post.

For the full size badge...

Amateur Catholic B-Team Member

Use the following code:

<a href="http://amateurcatholic.blogspot.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3277/850/1600/AmCathBteam.jpg" alt="Amateur Catholic B-Team Member"</a>

The following badge is scaled at approximately 75%, which is about as small as you can get and still discern the text of Maureen's beautiful tagline (unless of course you're viewing at some ungodly low resolution, then you can go smaller).

Amateur Catholic B-Team Member

The code for that is:

<a href="http://amateurcatholic.blogspot.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3277/850/1600/AmCathBteam.jpg" width=124 height=143 alt="Amateur Catholic B-Team Member"</a>

You can also tweak the above code to suit your needs. Just change the width and height properties to the desired pixel size or change the to a percentage factor like "50%".

Former blogger and fellow B-Teamer Owen, has found the badge to be far too large for his taste and created a micro model if you're more interested in that. And yes, Owen, we're quite all right with that kind of thing, after all, we are Amateurs! I just can't help but to wonder if it's just that you are ashamed of your B-Team status. *Gasp* ;)

The code to install it is:

<a href="http://amateurcatholic.blogspot.com" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXHZr9PBROFHIJskpfZc-nh9jrxDz2QTOagPjrydY_SpcujJwZfFZGSjCom8erhg_eKvRGQHjJtOLE0CCw_ozgzIBJ1OmiA8OjvnLbdvogLbJ2xwBG-pnniuB96OFDFKbhGwgNXA/s200/amateurcatholic.png" alt="Amateur Catholic B-Team Member" border="2" </a>

Or Standard chicklet size:

Anyway, we are Amateurs so we don't offer much in the way of technical support, but if you're having some issues, drop us a line in the combox and me or some other kind soul will lend you a hand. And special thanks to Owen for going above and beyond the call of B-Team duty to create and host the small badge.

So promote your fellow Amateur Catholic's and link back here.

Me, ashamed? No, never. I'm already working on the T shirt, rubber stamp and mural design. You guys will like the mural.

And thanks for the official sanction. I'll sleep better tonight.

I should add it would be cool if people copied the image and saved it to their own source and call the image from there as this will keep my stressed bandwidth down. :) Pweeeese. Thanks.

Here is my unrelated question:

How do I go about pasting HTML code into a post without it translating? I made an AMATEURISH button for my newest venture with fellow AC's, the "Scripture Scribes" blog. But when I try to paste the code for the button into a post, it just shows the button itself.
